Leslie’s House

The mission of Leslie’s House is to provide a safe haven for homeless women without dependents. We provide respite and choices to help create a healthy and self-sufficient life for our Guests.

Leslie's House

Leslie’s House

Pamela Smith, Case Manager
Leslie’s House was born out of the concern for single homeless women in the High Point community. Prior to the construction of Leslie’s House, there were very few safe places for homeless women to stay in Guilford County. Concerned citizens worked together to raise the funds necessary to build a beautiful home for women in need of shelter.

Today, Leslie’s House is open to women without dependents 18 years of age and older. Leslie’s House offers 22 emergency shelter beds, hot meals, toiletries, case management, Life Skills classes and most importantly, hope. Residents have a safe place to stay while stabilizing their lives and making plans for the future.

Residents meet with the Leslie’s House Case Manager to determine their plan of action. The Case Manager makes residents aware of available resources and aids them in navigating the path towards permanent housing.

Monday – Friday: Leslie’s House closes at 8:30 am and reopens for residents at 6:00 pm. Intakes for new residents are done beginning at 6:00 pm. A day room is available in the West End Community Center building for residents from 8:30 am – 6:00 pm Monday – Friday. Breakfast and Dinner is provided to the residents.

Leslie’s House is open all day for residents.
Leslie’s House is closed from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm.

Harris House/Transitional Housing

Harris House is a 3 bedroom duplex that is home to women that are working and have graduated from Leslie’s House. It provides an opportunity for residents to save, plan and prepare for living on their own while still experiencing support from caring staff members. Residents may live at Harris House for up to 6 months while working towards securing permanent housing.
